Pisces vs. Mars- The Stellium Square of the Week

Constructive: abstract creativity, authentic expression, deep intuition, heightened sensuality

Challenging: potential need to over-assert or over-share, “lone wolf” syndrome, distrust

Mercury’s going to be meeting the Sun and Neptune in the late degrees of Pisces at the end of this week. Throughout the week, we’ll feel this energy build as the fast-moving Sun and Mercury come together where Neptune’s been brooding in its dreamy domicile of The Fishes. All of this Piscean energy in the late degrees is making a square (a tenser aspect) to a movement-focused Mars in Gemini, and passes through playful sextiles with Pluto at the end of Capricorn…

And Neptune’s cultivated quite the energy for itself (plus the Sun/Mercury) here in Pisces. Neptune rules the collective state of mind in a way that governs how open-minded and fluid we’re being. In the last feminine water sign, you can easily infer why The God of the Seas is very much at home here; Since 2011ish, we’ve been seeking romantic and abstract grandeur. And in the places we can’t find it, we’ve been making it. This inspiration has helped us advance in many ways, but has also left us vulnerable to idealizing things too much.

This need for grandeur and beauty has led to a surge of creativity and a renewed interest in abstract thinking. People are exploring new forms of spirituality, shifts are being made towards mindful living, and we’re experiencing occult-like ways of joining together. Neptune here however hasn’t been so focused on striving for a balance between our dreams and reality. It’s time in Pisces has both opened our minds and inspired us to create, but has also made us vulnerable to unrealistic expectations. Being mindful of this energy’s potential pitfalls will help us make the most of Neptune’s time here.

Sun + Mercury + Neptune conjoin in Pisces

The current Sun/Mercury/Neptune stellium is a prime example of that aforementioned energy. The fast-moving Sun and Mercury are coming together where Neptune has been brooding, and we can feel the energy build throughout the week. This energy is ripe for creative expression and abstract thinking, but we must be careful not to get carried away by our ideals. We need to stay grounded in reality and be practical in our endeavors.

Representing our egos, sense of purpose, ways of thinking, and how we communicate our thoughts, the Sun and Mercury here are especially open to whatever new ideas come their way. It’s important to note that most planets don’t actually lovebeing at the exact degree as the Sun- They ‘feel the most heat’ here so to speak. And the Sun doesn’t handle such intense direct contact with the other major bodies. This is all to say that, in the later degrees of Pisces, the Sun and Mercury conjunction with Neptune brings us a LARGELY open mind and heart… And maybe an open mouth. You/Mercury may feel extra compelled to pour out all of your weird, new, abstract, creative thoughts… This can result in a few different things, but they all stem from being especially compassionate and self-aware (or at least more introspective than usual).

the square with Mars in Gemini

A significant factor in how this all plays out the the square to Mars in Gemini. Mars has nearly finished up its long stay in this masculine air sign and has been the one behind our quick, creative, and innovative action the past few months. We’ve been shifting socially, too, and a lot of it may tie back to your recent creative projects.

So, these three planets making a square to this energy suggests that our deeper emotions will come through these channels of your recent endeavors. Basically, your heart’s in it now, babe. There are more emotional connections and deeper meanings attached to the things you’ve been working on, and with that shift and intensifying of your energetic investment come new realities and obstacles to face. It’s likely you’ll be learning about how to speak your mind, voice your boundaries, and decipher your WANTS during this time… Pisces is a daydreamer and this energy supports your creative liberties taking authority!

a note on this Mars/Neptune square:
this square has been activated a few times recently, since Mars has been hanging out in Gemini for a whileeee. A creative and airy Mars making this tough aspect to Neptune signifies a softening of our masculine walls… As you can imagine this leaves Mars feeling pretty put-on-the-spot, as he’s used to stricter codes of behavior. On one hand, this combination can lead to a surge of creativity and a willingness to explore new avenues of action. Mars, typically associated with assertiveness and masculinity, is getting hit with a dose of fluidity and openness when influenced by Neptune's imaginative energy., which is especially heightened in the later degrees of the feminine Water sign of Pisces. On the other hand, this aspect can also make Mars feel uncomfortable in a way that can potentially lead to self-centeredness or suspicion. It's important to be mindful of these possible negative effects and work to counteract them by staying grounded and focused on our goals. We can use this aspect as an opportunity to tap into our creative inspiration and explore new ways of approaching challenges in our lives, while remaining mindful of others’ truths and abstract paths. Neptune’s magnetic dreaminess has the potential to be a source of growth and expansion if we approach it with an open mind and a willingness to adapt.

The Sun and Mercury square to Mars may support this energy of feeling emotionally discontented while simultaneously feeling an intense connection to your intuition and inner creative essence. It’s important to balance the masculine, goal-oriented energy with the feminine, compassionate and slow energy that Pisces season lends. Mars has been steeping in the Gemini energy for a few months now, so it’s likely this all ties back to an evolution of a course of action you began at the end of last Summer. During this time of change, Mars has essentially been on its own in Gemini, which makes it significant whenever it receives support from different energies to help it thrive and work more effectively; So it’s important to take the time to reflect on your goals and aspirations, and work on integrating your own needs and the needs of those around you into the picture.

and sextiles with Pluto

All this Pisces stuff is making a playful aspect to Pluto in the FUCKING LATE degrees of Capricorn tells us that all of this stuff is somehow, even in the slightest, related to our ingrained patterns and tendencies (and, if you haven’t gotten the memo, Pluto’s tryna let some of that shit go). Habitual cycles are Pluto’s fave thing to delve into, and as our grip on old, ‘stuck’ ways of thinking loosens, we begin new, open-minded endeavors with Pluto entering Aquarius 23 March.
