Venus enters Leo

Venus in Leo is a Princess in the Golden Hour; Sitting in the temple of the Sun she is enlivened by the light, adapting the fiery ambition of the Lion to design the life she desires…..

Meditation on the archetypal “Princess’ reveals insight into the complex inner mind she possesses; When we’re on fire, when we’re shining bright, when we’re visible and seen (whether by our own will or by that of an inherited status), there will always come a moment of pause. When the child star is finally alone in the dressing room, removing her makeup, she’s faced with a reflection: Am I doing this for someone else? Am I playing a role or is this actually me? What’s in my sphere of influence and in my control that I haven’t explored yet? What does true fulfillment, passion, pride, reward, motivation in my actions feel like? How can I better understand and harness my inner fire to call my dreams into fruition?

Venus has come to represent these desires and our wants… She has a designer’s eye… Her mood determines where and how we find our beauty, the most harmony, and peace. It embodies the desire to get what we want at no cost to others; To execute our manifestations in ways that flow with our external circumstances; To follow passion.

The sign of Leo is where the Sun reaches its peak brightness and begins to fall downward again… Similar to the Sun at midday, or the king of a village, in Leo there’s an awareness of darkness, yet an embracing of and protectiveness over this most high moment of peak brightness.

To do all of this (execute your manifestations harmoniously and harness this ‘king of the world’ energy), sometimes requires a re-design of the internal, or at least a good clear look at it. Gaining clarity into what you actually want is the first step to making it happen, and often times, clarity brings light to where any discontentment lies within you… Where in your life can you call in more alignment and ease? What is in your sphere of influence and able to be recalibrated? What’s outside of your sphere of influence and how can you flow with that, without being able to change it?

Without changing it, we can change our relationships with the things that’re inhibiting our most authentic flow. We can reevaluate how much, and what type of power we’re giving them; We can call back our energy, condensing our sphere of influence into something recognizable. The lion is all about pride, and the Goddess of love here makes sure we’re filled with, and surrounded by things that we really love and are proud of.

**In my writings, you may notice pronouns for the planets being used interchangeably (ex: it/its + he/his). In traditional ancient astrology, all planets (except Mercury) are associated with a masculine or feminine (yin/yang) energy; These are simply archetypal concepts that help us better understand the nature of the cosmos and should not be taken as any means of division between the gendered energies. The hope is to embrace and embody both energies that live within us all.
